How do you brand Easter Rice Krispie treats?
- Yous'll make a full batch of Rice Krispies the regular way, in a pan on the stove.
- And then, instead of transferring the mixture to a pan to cool and then slice, you'll grab spoonfuls of the mixture and shape it into an oval egg shape.
- I think this is all-time done by using your palms to cup the mixture and pack information technology into an egg shape.
- Be sure to spread some softened butter over your hands so that the Rice Krispies don't stick to you. You'll demand to reapply every few eggs as you go.
- Place the eggs on a piece of wax newspaper to cool slightly before decorating.
Tin you use plastic Easter eggs to make Easter Rice Krispie treats?
Yes! I've tried it this style also and they definitely work. Here's a few pointers:
– You lot'll want to make certain your Easter eggs are make clean and dry. I done mine in a big bowl of soapy water, then rinsed them off and dried them with a kitchen towel.
– Yous'll desire to smear the inside of each egg with a scrap of butter to foreclose the Rice Krispies from sticking. (Spraying them with cooking spray would probably work too.)
– Scoop a large spoonful of the Rice Krispies mixture into the larger side of the plastic egg and smush it down well. Make a rounded superlative and put the other half of the egg on and smush it shut.
– You'll want to let the eggs sit for a couple of minutes to help the Rice Krispies set upward. Then remove carefully, curl them in your easily if needed to reshape them, and you are ready to decorate.
Absolutely, using the plastic Easter eggs was a little too fussy for me to practise for all of mine. Plus yous have to clean them all once again after you lot've used them. I'm as well lazy for that… π
And honestly, using your easily/palms to shape the eggs works just as well, so that's what I prefer.
And now, for the fun office – decorating the eggs!
We've got options here, my friends. Lots of options.
Pick your favorite or mix and match several decorating options and have some serious fun with these!
five ways to decorate Easter egg Rice Krispie treats:
1. You can color the marshmallow mixture to be a pastel shade of whatsoever food coloring you lot have on mitt. You'll want to add the nutrient coloring to the pan earlier you add the crispy rice cereal and make sure information technology'southward well mixed into the melted marshmallows. You'll need five-10 drops of nutrient coloring, depending on the shade yous want.
If you are feeling aggressive, you could endeavour dividing the marshmallow mixture into dissimilar containers. Then you could make different colored ones. You lot'll have to work quickly though to get the food coloring mixed in and then the cereal mixed in before the marshmallow mixture cools and hardens.
two. Mix sprinkles into the marshmallow mixture in your pan, at the same time you add the crispy rice cereal. You'll probably want to do almost 1/2 cup, but play with it and meet what looks right to you.
three. Or you tin dip the finished eggs in sprinkles. Place your sprinkles in a modest basin and dip the Rice Krispie eggs in the bowl to cover one-half or all of the egg. Make sure to do this earlier the Rice Krispies absurd completely or the sprinkles won't stick very well. (Meet the moving picture to a higher place for what this looks similar. π)
iv. Dip the finished eggs in chocolate sauce or melted chocolate. I used an like shooting fish in a barrel homemade chocolate sauce and included that recipe in the recipe menu below. It's seriously amazing. You could too melt chocolate chips and a pat of butter in a double boiler on the stovetop and dip the Rice Krispie Easter eggs into that. (You can melt them in the microwave as well, but be careful and go boring so the mixture doesn't seize up and harden completely. Been there, done that. π)
5. I too recollect these eggs would await really pretty dipped in melted white chocolate. Very spring-similar!
And here'due south a bonus 6th manner to decorate these: Dip them in your melted chocolate (white or regular) AND and then dip them in sprinkles. ✨ Hello, sugar high!
My daughter is desperate for me to make them that way for her. Perchance this will be the twelvemonth…
(Oh, and here's a great guide to melting chocolate if you have more questions on that.)
Finally, for those of you lot who are super crafty and creative, you lot could also use those edible icings to pigment on some designs to your Rice Krispie Easter eggs. So fancy! ✨
I hope you give these a try for a fun edible Easter projection! Notwithstanding you decorate them, everyone is sure to dear them!
